Couldn’t be more proud of Louie, our team, and his dedicated owner @nataliedomeniconi.

Louie came in dog reactive, human reactive, bite history, minimal obedience and no off switch. He was constantly go go go…

Goals from Natalie:
1)resource guarding bones and high value items
2)Stranger Danger and human reactive when meeting new people on the street.
3)Over adrenalized when playing tug/fetch etc and then gets aggressive.
4)”go to your bed” command to help with cleaning the house, entertaining guests, dinner.
5)Work on touching, grooming, nails and bathing desensitization. (Will bite)

This is what consistency, structure, and teamwork can do to establish a new beginning and increase quality of life. 👏

Introducing- 1-year-old Hades, newley adopted came out the shelter with a lot of frustration and unfamiliar to the real world. Being returned 3 times before the age of 1 made it clear he needed a full reset due to never being taught how to deal with the real world and all the stress it brings. He had to be just as involved in his own success to be able to come out truly feeling different when encountering stress in the real world. I.e dogs, people, kids, bikes, traffic, etc. We appreciate @om_sweet_omm for making the trip all the way from Colorado and trusting us with this love bug for 6 weeks! Many have been following Odin during his journey w

Many have been following Odin during his journey with us on becoming the best version of himself and finding his forever home.

Odin didn’t come in getting the best food and that caused a lot of diarrhea and bloody stools for the first week with us. Vet confirmed he has an allergy but just didn’t know to what. Instead of spending hundreds of the rescue resources on allergy tests I quickly reached out to Roman over at @rawdinopets explained what was happening and before even asking he offered to sponsor @odin_godofwoof during his stay with us. He hand delivered food the next day to start his 3 day transition kit to go full raw and Odin could not be happier. He has been having solid poops, more energy, less stinky breath, scratching less and sleeps better/deeper. The power of a healthy balance diet will always be worth the extra couple bucks in my books.

This one was a tough one…. A really tough one.
We lost one of The Happy K-9’s OG’s 😔💔

Bruin was one of our first ever training dogs and lifelong daycare dogs when we first opened 11 years ago. And yes, out of Nelson’s bedroom at his childhood home were THK9 was born. This definitely has hit us all hard but know he is at peace now and romping around with all the other THk9 alumni ❤️ Bruin will forever live in our hearts and will never be forgotten. From our infamous stair pictures in Nelson’s backyard to our new facility in Danvers. From our first ever Christmas pictures to our walking dates at the park. Bruin was there through it all, the good, the bad, the ugly. I’m just happy you were able to help teach us so much and be part of our growth. Everything step of the way❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lisa and her family have done nothing but give Bruin one hell of a life, a life full of joy, happiness, freedom and LOVE, lots and lots of it. Our heart goes out to you Lisa and your family and if you know Lisa please send her some positive energy during this tough time. Bruin, buddy, this isn’t a goodbye but a see ya later ❤️🐶

Meet Odin!🐺 Odin was surrendered over to @kittycon

Meet Odin!🐺 Odin was surrendered over to @kittyconnection and is currently enrolled in our board and train program. He is a young pup that’s hasn't had the best first year of his life and we want to change that. He is coming to learn how to become the best version of himself. After training, he will be looking for his forever home and will be available for adoption! He is a neutered 1 year old male husky, odin is sweet and very fun with lots of energy. He will need a committed owner to continue to guide him and continue working on all his training skills he has learned here at THK-9. We are looking to give Odin and his new owners a life full of on and off leash freedom!!!! He will come not only trained in on leash obedience, but potty trained, crate trained, grooming etiquette, Ecollar trained, off leash trained, etc.
